BA(Hons) Fine Art

The BA(Hons) Fine Art course at UWE Bristol is designed to help students build their confidence in fine art practice and develop a range of transferable professional skills to support their future in the creative industries and beyond.

The course is based at Spike Island, an internationally renowned contemporary art venue in the heart of Bristol, and offers a collaborative environment, modern facilities, supportive workshop instruction, critical discussion, and expert input. Students will have the chance to work in any medium during their studies, develop their ideas, and shape their own professional journey.

Learning and Teaching

The learning outcomes for this course are achieved through a mix of active teaching methods in timetabled sessions, as well as tutorial support and independent study. Students will participate in activities led or facilitated by teaching staff, including lectures, seminars, tutorials, presentations, peer reviews, technical workshops, practical studio time, and off-site visits and events.


Assessment

There are no exams on this course, and students will be assessed through the art they make, presentations, reflective and analytical written assignments, and research projects.
