MSc/Postgraduate Diploma/Postgraduate Certificate Marketing and Marketing Communications
The MSc Marketing and Marketing Communications equips students with the comprehensive skill set needed to create impactful campaigns, develop strategic communication plans, and deliver commercial communications that resonate with diverse audiences across a wide variety of digital media channels.
Why Study Marketing / Marketing Communications?
This course helps students learn to balance creativity with analytical insights, ensuring their communication strategies are both innovative and data-driven. Students will learn how to engage audiences through both written and visual media, building their skills across a variety of industry-standard media production and design software tools.

Entry
Entry Requirements
- An honours degree of 2:2 or above in any subject.
- If students do not meet the above grade requirements but have at least 12 months of relevant professional experience and/or equivalent qualifications, they will be considered on an individual basis.
Personal Statement
Students are required to complete a personal statement for this course, answering the questions on the postgraduate application form within the personal statement tabs, keeping to the advised word count.
English Language Requirement
International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent).
Structure
Content
The course includes the following modules:
- Communication Strategies and Brand Engagement
- Navigating Organisational Complexity
- The Anatomy of a Business
- Career Catalyst: Developing Skills for Long Term Success
Plus one of the following pairs of optional modules:
- Enterprise Project: Concept Development
- Enterprise Project: Business Realisation
- Marketing Project: Group Project Challenge
- Management Project: Individual Project Challenge
- Work-Based Learning Project: Project Scoping
- Work-Based Learning Project: Implementation and review
Learning and Teaching
The MSc Marketing and Marketing Communications is offered as a one-year intensive course of study. Students learn through formal lectures, seminars, group work, mentor meetings, and further independent study to consolidate their learning.
Study Time
Students attend the Business School for one year, studying two to three days per week, and submit their dissertation in September. They can choose to submit their dissertation in December, taking 15 months to complete the course.
