The Continuing Professional Development Certificate for Executive and Senior Level Coaches and Mentors is a professional development program designed for senior leaders and executives who want to develop their coaching and mentoring skills. The program is accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and is delivered by the Bristol Business School.

Program Structure

The program is delivered over 15 months and consists of a mixture of theory and skills development. The program includes:

• 4 sessions delivered on the online learning platform
• 3 sessions taking place at the Bristol Business School
• 140 hours of independent study

Learning and Teaching

The program is delivered through a combination of online and face-to-face sessions. The online sessions are delivered through the university's online learning platform, and the face-to-face sessions take place at the Bristol Business School. The program includes a range of teaching methods, including:

• Coaching triads
• Giving and receiving feedback
• Working in small groups
• Presentations and discussions

Accreditations and Partnerships

The program is accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). The university is also a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council UK (EMCC UK), and students who complete the program are eligible for a 25% reduction in membership fees.

IT Requirements

The program is delivered partly online, and students will need to have access to a computer with the following specifications:

• Operating system: Windows 7+, Mac OS 10.9
• Web browser: Google Chrome is the optimal browser, but other browsers such as Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge are also compatible
• Required plugins: Adobe Flash Player
• Additional requirements:
  • 256 MB RAM
  • 20 MB free disk space
  • Internet access - 28.8 kbps speed or above (broadband connection highly recommended)
  • Soundcard with microphone and headphones (a headset with microphone/headphones is highly recommended)
  • Webcam

Study Facilities

The program is delivered at the Bristol Business School, which is located at the Frenchay Campus. The campus has four fully equipped training rooms, a communications and reception area, and is easily accessible by car or public transport. Students will also have access to the university's online library resources, study skills support sessions, and librarian chat function.
