COP28 Simulation - Capacity Building Programme
The COP28 Simulation Capacity Building Programme is a comprehensive two-week training programme that builds the skills of the participants in five main areas:
- Climate literacy
- International Climate Action
- Research
- Interpersonal and Soft skills
- Climate Action in Practice
- Youth in Climate Action
The Capacity-Building Programme provides participants with an in-depth understanding of the scientific, legal, political, and economic dimensions of climate change through lectures, discussions, case studies, and simulations.
The Programme was carried out online where experts on the subject from local and international institutions are invited to share their experience with around 160 youth delegates from all around the globe.
Utilising the information and knowledge that the participants gained from the Capacity Building Programme, participants prepare research on climate-related themes to develop early position papers under defined themes. Together, the Capacity Building Programme and the Research help the participants to build a case for the discussions and negotiations in the Mock Conference and come up with the final COP28 Simulation declaration.
COP28 Simulation Capacity Building Programme Agenda
The agenda for the programme is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of climate change and its related issues.
