Program Overview
The program consists of an exciting mix of interdisciplinary lectures, close reading sessions, and group discussions. After a week of philosophising about contemporary motherhood and mothering with peers and teachers, participants will leave the winter school with fresh insights and novel questions to explore in their own research and daily life.
Organizers
The winter school is organised by Emma Moormann, Joke Struyf, and Katrien Schaubroeck from the Philosophy Department, University of Antwerp.
Program Details
- The winter school will take place from 2 to 6 February 2026.
- The program will explore philosophical frameworks and conceptual tools to think through experiences and practices related to motherhood.
- It will also examine whether practices of mothering can challenge long-held traditional philosophical views.
Objective
The objective of the winter school is to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the relation between feminism and motherhood, and to equip them with fresh insights and novel questions to explore in their own research and daily life.
