Educational Master in Economics: Business Administration
Program Overview
Introduction to the Educative Master in Economics: Business Administration
The Educative Master in Economics: Business Administration is a program designed to further deepen students' understanding of business administration while preparing them for a career as economics teachers. This program combines the teacher training program with an extensive package of economic and business courses.
Program Structure
The program starts with the core components of the Master's in Applied Economic Sciences: Business Administration, specifically Strategic Management and Ethical and Sustainable Entrepreneurship. Students then choose a major to further specialize in one domain of business administration, such as Accountancy, European and International Entrepreneurship, Financing, Marketing, Strategy and Organization, Transport and Logistics, or Data Science. The rest of the study program is filled with one or more elective courses. All economic and business courses are taken together with students from the non-educative Master's in Applied Economic Sciences: Business Administration.
Becoming a Teacher
The teaching component of the program alternates between practice and theory. Each practical experience serves as a basis for theory, and the theory, in turn, serves as a springboard for the next practical moment. Theory is provided, among other things, in the form of subject didactics, which means learning to teach in one's subject area. The practical part consists of practice lessons and three different internships.
Master's Thesis
In the Master's thesis, students combine business administration and teacher training. For example, they can conduct scientific research in the domain of education economics or carry out business research that they later translate into a didactic application, or choose a subject-didactic research in economics. The Workshop Educative Master Economics is part of the Master's thesis, where research and communication skills are further sharpened. This course, specially designed for all students in the Educative Master Economics, focuses on peer coaching, and students are expertly supported by their promoter.
